Reading

Reading (in English and Irish) is a focal point in the curriculum in order to fully benefit from education.
Children with particular learning needs are identified at an early stage and provided with the appropriate support.

If your child is having difficulty with reading concepts, it is important to make the child's teacher aware of this so that they can provide additional support where possible. You may also find the additional resources on this page useful.

Paired (Shared) Reading is a very good way for parents to help with their children's reading. Understand Paired Reading and watch a video on How to Implement Paired Reading
